Students now have their A.R. goals. Be sure they are reading, and keeping up with their calendar. |
Parents Page It was nice meeting with all of you last week. Below are some links I wanted to share based on conversations in some of the conferences. Sites to help you find books by reading level. Book Wizard. Parent reviews of books, movies and video games. Common Sense Media. Here is a link I have posted in the past, APlus math is a great site to print out your own math worksheets for practice. A plus math. Notes: The notes we take in class will now be posted on the web site, along with study guides when they are posted for the tests. The notes can be found on the handouts tab, from the main page. Back to school night paperwork and book money: There are still a few who have not submitted the back to school night paperwork and book money, last friday a packet was sent home with the completed work if you are missing the paperwork. Please return ASAP. Thank you. Math Homework: The answers for the math homework is posted on a nightly basis (most nights). When the answers are posted, the students must check their work against those on the web. If they turn in work with wrong answers, the work will be returned until the wrong answers are corrected. If after checking the answers the student cannot find their mistake, they should circle the problem and ask me about it the next day. ITBS testing: Thank you for the snacks during ITBS testing, it meant a lot to the kids. All of the testing is behind us, and we can move on with the school year. Progress reports go home next week, I have always have to warn that these grades are based on very few classroom grades. We missed a full week with ITBS and the first few weeks being introductions, a poor grade on a test or homework assignments weight much heavier than they will in once more grades are entered. Spelling Contracts - we have started our spelling contracts for this year. The students recieve a contract on Monday, and all work is due Friday. The student's have a choice of which assignments to do, but they must total 50 points by Friday, this is a both a classwork and a homework assignment. Here is a spelling contract incase an extra is needed.
Returned tests: All tests are sign and return, regardless of the subject or grade. If a retake is available (mostly with math tests) the test can be retaken and the student will have a chance to improve their grade. In most cases, the retake can improve the grade to a C. In most cases, only students scoring below 70% will be allowed to retest.
A.R. link is now active. Click on the link at the top of the page. Message Board: I am looking for another solution to the message board. The current keeps getting hit by spammers. I will announce here as soon as the new message board is ready.
Camp Carritas: Click here for information regarding Camp Carritas. This information is not exact. This is information based on last years trip. It is meant as information only to give you an example of Supply lists, costs, etc.
